Two Years In One

Two Years In One

Brick had always known that he was cursed. It had been passed down through his family for generations, a dark fate bestowed upon them by a witch who had wronged his ancestors long ago. The curse caused his luck to fluctuate wildly, sometimes making him incredibly lucky, and at other times so unlucky it was a miracle he was still alive.

But this year had been different. Despite his curse, this year had been the best year of his life. He had met the love of his life, had finally been able to solve a case that had eluded him for years, and had even gained some measure of respect from his colleagues. He didn't want the year to end, and he was determined to do whatever it took to keep it going.

So when the rapidly aging and incredibly wise Baby New Year of the current year approached him with a case, he didn't hesitate. Someone was trying to kill Baby New Year, and it was up to Brick to find out who and stop the murder from happening.

As he delved into the case, Brick's terrible luck seemed to rear its head at every turn. He was constantly thwarted by bizarre and unlikely circumstances, making his investigation almost impossible. But he refused to give up, determined to protect Baby New Year and see the current year through to the end.

Through tireless detective work and the help of some unexpected allies, Brick was finally able to piece together the clues and track down the person behind the assassination plot. It turned out to be a jealous rival of Baby New Year, who hoped to take their mantle and bring in a better year by any means necessary.

As the stroke of midnight approached, Brick confronted the baby with the sniper rifle, preparing to assassinate Baby New Year in order to take their mantle. Without hesitation, Brick leaped in front of the sniper rifle bullet, saving the life of Baby New Year and delaying the New Year by another year.

And as the current year continued on, Brick realized that despite the curse that had plagued his family for generations, his destiny was not set in stone. He could choose his own path, and make his own luck. And as he celebrated the continuation of the best year of his life, he knew that he had finally broken the curse that had held him back for so long.
